Fairways & Bluewater is ranked Five-Star by Interval International. The golf course alone is truly remarkable that only a prestigious international tournament is fit for its inaugurations. In December 1997, Fairways & Bluewater hosted the Philippine leg of the 1997 Johnnie Walker Super Tour, which marked the golf course's formal opening. During this tournament, eight of the world's best golfers gave Fairways & Bluewater its first tee-offs, swings and putts, among them Ernie Els, Nick Faldo, Ian Woosnam and Jesper Parnevic.

Other tournaments hosted include the Cebu Pacific-7107 Hotel & Resorts Golf Tournament and Boracay Invitational Golf Tournament.
